Two big EV trends stood out at Electrify Expo 2025: smoother rides and more personalization.

I went to the Electrify Expo in Los Angeles last weekend—North America’s largest e-mobility event—and two things were impossible to miss:

1️⃣ 𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐫𝐚𝐰 𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫

Test drives from Tesla, Lucid, Cadillac, Rivian, Ford, and others all pointed to the same surprise: how smooth, quiet, and refined these new EVs have become.

Noise levels at 70 mph tell the story:
Lucid Air: 64 dB
Chevy Equinox EV: 65 dB
Tesla Model 3: 66 dB
That’s quieter than most hybrids—and nearly at Rolls-Royce levels.

Expect more pop-up test drives and take-home demos as brands try to showcase this new kind of luxury.

2️⃣ 𝐄𝐕 𝐛𝐮𝐲𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐜𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞

Minimalist designs are giving rise to a booming personalization market—custom wraps, leather interiors, etched trims.

Rivian’s modular add-ons are a hit, and shops like EV Autostyle are now doing 200+ custom interior orders per month.

Think Porsche-level personalization—but now it’s hitting the EV mainstream.

Refined. Personal. EVs are evolving fast.
Which trend do you think will matter more to future buyers?
